Karyn, her husband Tom, and their dog KC moved to Trilogy in Groveland 4.5 years ago to begin retirement. They fell in love with Groveland’s small-town charm, lakes, hills, and the beauty this area displayed. Karyn and Tom are both active in their community; she as the Trilogy Neighborhood Watch Coordinator and a member of the Safety and Security Committee, and he as a member of the Architectural Control Board.
Karyn began her working career as a secretary, then a dental assistant, and ultimately a real estate salesperson, but returned to college as an adult and retired from 30 years in education with a Masters Degree in School Counseling. She was a leader in the education community where she was always seeking and working towards positive change. She brings that perspective to Groveland Works for a city that she sees as everything is possible.
In the 39 years of living in the Estero area, in SW Fl, she witnessed the growth of a town that was not more than orange groves, ranchettes, and small communities, to the thriving city it is today. She saw similarities to Groveland and knew it’s potential. With the excellent stewardship of a team of city leaders, Estero became a model city with architectural standards and concern for smart growth. A city with a vision was their motto. She saw Groveland’s potential and wanted that design and thoughtfulness to prevail here. She believes we are on our way to achieving great things with our leadership and master plan.
